This morning, we started to round numbers to the closest tens. This was a way to estimate before adding or subtracting numbers. I noticed that there was a need to review adding and subtracting (borrowing). Some practice will be going home tomorrow. In grade four, students must learn how to add and subtract up to four digits.
In Religion, as part of the "Samaritans on the Digital Road", we looked at a couple of online videos about acts of kindness and people who have paid it forward.
In Language, our learning goal was to use our schema before, during, and after we read. We read, The Great Kapok Tree and used our schema (or background knowledge) about rain forests in order to comprehend the book.
