Thursday, November 24th

Good afternoon!
Today in math, we practised using number lines to figure out elapsed time.  The learning goal is to use various strategies to find out the passage of time.
In language, we started writing our rough copies for our final assignment on descriptive writing.  I read the story, The Blessing Cup.  This narrative tells the story of a Jewish family and how they had to flee Russia during the time of the Czars soldiers.  They find their way to America with the help of a kind doctor.  In return, they leave behind their only possession, a tea set, except for one cup.  They assure the doctor that his cups will offer him plenty of blessings, just as the cup will do for them.

Homework:
-reading logs are due tomorrow
-students are encouraged to practice their math skills about time using the links under measurement.
-Wear red and black day tomorrow to support the Red Blacks team playing in the Grey Cup on Sunday.
