Thursday, June 1st

Today in math, we started to look at probability.  This will be another short unit.  We already started to look at using the terms impossible, unlikely, likely, and certain for possible outcomes.  I showed the students an introductory video from Discovery Education, called "Discovering math: probability".  This was a great visualization that showed the students the different ways we can look at probability in real-life situations.  If you would like to have access for Discovery Education, please write me a note in your child's agenda book.  They have many other areas of study that would benefit their learning, such as social studies, science, and other math areas.

Homework:
-reading log due tomorrow
-Math Prodigy: practice questions assigned
-Sign math tests/quiz and return tomorrow
-Bring back library books

The following pictures are some good examples of the reading responses the students have been practicing with.  They also had a set criteria to follow.
